One final post about the car. Here is the actual article about our accident.

So we bid farewell to 'Old Red', but say hello to 'Big White' Old Reds younger cousin. He's a '93 Si Sedan and super dope.

Goodtimes for the summer with the sunroof. Peace

Mike and Amy

Wow!!! Well you wanted an update so here it is. Last night we went to visit Amy's parents for her moms birthday, we left Port Alberni last night and were going to head down to Victoria to visit my parents. However, the weather was bad last night, snowing and such, so when we were passing by our house in Nanaimo, we stopped in and decided to head down to Victoria in the morning. Ironic because when we got to the Nanaimo airport this morning, this is what happened...

(Here we are teetering over the Cassidy bridge)
(Some shots from the tow-yard, R.I.P. Civic)

...as we rounded the corner on highway 1 south at about 90km, two cars pulled out from a side road at a dead stop. The road was wet and as I swerved to go around one of them, we went into a slide and went sideways into the center barrier on the bridge! Amazingly, miraculously, we climbed out the drivers side because we had no plans to slide off the bridge into the river, movie style. Amy and I both got out with only sore muscles and joints, thanks for the help God. Pick any variation on this accident and we would be seriously hospitalized! That's miracle in my books. Thanks to moms and dads and brothers and sisters for everything.

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to take this opportunity to wish all of you a Happy New Year, a little late I know, but here it is.

Mike and I had an awesome Holiday Season and Christmas. Our farewell at the church was on the 10th of December, and we were both on holidays as of December 12th. We started our holidays with a trip to Tigh-Na-Mara. We had an awesome room with a view, and had a great time. Here are some pics:

Next we made our way to to Port Alberni to spend my birthday and Christmas with the Rogers Clan...Yes, that sure is a sponge bob ice cream cake.

This is Mike and I at round 1 of present opening.

We had a great time playing with my cousins new puppy on Christmas.

A Christmas pic with the Rogers clan (minus 4) before making the trek down island.

This is round 2 of present opening at the Boomers

Here we are looking for the pickle ornament, first one to find it gets a prize. Things got a little feisty this year (sorry Laura, lol) but Matt came out with the prize...next year he'll have to watch out.

We then threw on our new Christmas PJ's and proceeded to watch many hours of 24.

Well that's all for now, Hope you are all doing well in the New Year.

Hey Everyone,

Thought we would just take some time to show you some Africa pics. If you didn't know, Mike and I went to Kampala, Uganda, Africa. We went from August 12th to Sept 4 with a team from First Assembly in Calgary. We had the chance to work with Watoto childcare ministries, and Kampala Pentecostal church. We also helped with a camp for 700 orphans. It was a very cool experience, so here are the pics:

This is 3:30 am on the day we left, pretty good for 3:30 hey!!!

After over 50 hours of travel time, one 5 hour flight, two 9 hour flights and a 12 hour layover we finally made it to our destination. However, NONE of our luggage made it. We flew 2 days after the London bomb crisis, and it was chaos in the London Airport, no carry-on's allowed, after fighting to keep my money belt and prescription medications we made it through. Let just say it was a long couple of days.

This is some pictures of the city of Kampala. There are 2.2 million people in 8 square kms, lets just say there are people EVERYWHERE. The second picture is the view from our hotel room.

After settling in for a day, we toured the 3 Watoto villages, here is us playing with some of the kids. Yes we are wearing the same outfits, our luggage didn't come for 7 days!!!

This is us with our sponsor child, Sandra. She is 14 and it was really cool to meet her.

This was at one of the babies homes we went to...

Ok, this is all for now...stay tuned for pics of the sights, and the fun stuff we did...

My sister sent me this great picture of my dog, Jackson, who lives at my parents house. This guy lives for snow. He is stoked, looks like a puppy out there.

P.S. It's still snowing, and that is so sweet.

Hi, everyone...

Well this is my first ever official blog post, not sure if that's the right way to say it, but what can you do. So yesterday Mike and I made it out for church in the am. We were a little nervous for the return trip due to the snow and the fact that we live on a hill. The only way to get home is up a steep hill or down an even steeper hill. We decided to go up and sure enough we ended up pushing our car up the hill, and eventually made it home. Needless to say today we weren't so brave, and had a nice day at home. This is what we did....

Yes, this is Mike making pancakes from scratch, I guess snow brings out the unexpected in people...and they were really good.

While Mike was making the pancakes I decided to take out some of our Christmas decorations...

Next, it was time to face the weather, we got all bundled up and out we went.

Now, its time to face the consequences of procrastinating all day and not getting ANY homework done...to the books we go.
PS it was all worth it!!!
